Unidentified Robber Fly
Dear Bobbert,
This is one magnificent Robber Fly and we are not certain of the species. It reminds us of individuals in the genus Saropogon, which is represented on BugGuide, and it also reminds us of members of the Subfamily Stenopogoninae which is also represented on BugGuide. Perhaps one of our readers more skilled at identifying Diptera will be able to assist in this identification.
